Award Description: The award will be used to provide alternate water supplies at sites where existing water supplies have been impacted by petroleum contamination from a leaking UST. This will be accomplished by completing municipal water line extensions or providing a community water supply.
Project Description: The award will be used to provide alternate water supplies at sites where existing water supplies have been impacted by petroleum contamination from a leaking UST. This will be accomplished by awarding funds to localities (Sub Recipients) to use to complete municipal water line extensions or provide a community water supply. Virginia DEQ is in the process of negotiating Interagency Agreements with these localities to design, construct and install these water lines or community water systems.
