Award Description: The City of Hollywood's strategy focuses on the EECBG Project Activity #13) the 'Development or Implementation of On-Site Renewable Energy on Government Buildings as described by the EECBG Program. The City of Hollywood proposes to develop, implement, and install on site renewable energy technology that generates electricity from renewable resources; solar and wind energy. The City proposes to install renewable energy systems on targeted city facilities. Possible locations include a mix of administrative buildings and public safety facilities. The selected project vendor will adhere to the ARRA Legislation Section 1605-Required Use of American Iron, Steel, and Manufactured Goods.

Project Description: The activity thus far includes the composition of the vendor RFP. We anticipate to announce the RFP by November 2009. We anticipate selecting a vendor by January 2010.

The City proposes to install renewable energy systems on targeted city facilities. Possible locations include a mix of administrative buildings and public safety facilities. Project Objective: A: Install Renewable Generation Capacity to reduce the electrical demands through the use of renewable energy on a mix of four or more government buildings and reduce energy consumption to 6-10%, which will reduce load on power generation, reduce environmental concerns and reduce the City's carbon footprint. B: Inform citizens of the City’s efforts to Reduce Energy Consumption and Advance Sustainable Energy Technologies by using the live educational monitoring and display panels as a resource to inform and encourage additional renewable energy and energy saving plans. C: Monitor and report actual savings. D: Provide investment grade audit. E: Use of Davis Bacon Wage Laws for all projects and meet applicable reporting requirements.
