Award Description: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant

Project Description: Coconino County plans to use EECBG funding to implement energy conservation measures in both municipal and residential structures.In developing both government and residential energy-efficiency programs, these partners have acknowledged the needs in County government buildings and the community, and have created a phased approach in serving these needs. This project, The Coconino County Energy Conservation and Green Workforce Development Program fits within the energy efficiency retrofit eligible activity criteria. These programs meet the intent of the ARRA by reducing energy costs and consumption through improving building equipment functions, energy efficiency retrofits and energy tracking, reducing green house gas (GHG) emissions while supporting the creation and development of green industry and work force. Initial program activities are strategized to build capacity and support local industry while advancing County?s commitment to implementing renewable energy technologies and integrating initial measures into a long-term sustainable action plan. Coconino County Facilities PROJECT ACTIVITY: -Participated in both Federal reporting guidelines and EECBG reporting webinars. ? Assigned account codes to FMD EECBG project list. ? Meet with Visible Energy regarding measurement and tracking programming. - Contacted Cody Grave Automated Energy Solutions regarding EIS smart metering. ? Met with Deputy County manager regarding possibility of installing LED in Administration building. ? Spoke with Electric League of Arizona regarding building operator certificate programming and instructional costs. Coconino County Residential Project Activity: -In the process of hiring an EECBG Program Coordinator. - Attended Federal Reporting and EECBG Reporting Webinars. - Developing outreach materials. - Coordination with local agencies on housing rehabilitation, weatherization and energy efficiency programs. - Developing application and program materials.

Jobs Summary: We have only recently been awarded the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and have been involved in the process of hiring two positions partially funded through this opportunity. During our next reporting period we anticipate an increase in the number of jobs created as our projects reach a point of full implementation. (Total jobs reported: 0)
