Award Description: ARAA cost of living adjustment (COLA) and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5)of the Head Start Act.
Project Description: ARRA COLA and Quality Improvement funds will be used to: -implement a pay for performance salary system through out the Head Start Program. This system will increase pay rates for Head Start Employees. -provide six(6) additional pre-servcie training days for head start employees to support program initiatives for creative curriculum, IMIL, and Social and Emotional Education Development. -contract with a consultant who will facilitate development of systems which will sustain the Social and Emotional Education Development program wide. -provide equipment and supplies to support the initiatives referenced above. Quarterly Progress: - the pay for performance system has been implemented. Head Start employees have been brought up to the entry level of the system. Many employees have realized an increase in wages at this phase. -six(6) additional pre-servcie training days have been provided for Head Start Staff. These training days have supported initiatives for creative curriculum, IMIL, and Social and Emotional Educational Development. -A Contract has been signed with a firm to support system enhancements which will sustain the social and emotional educational development initiative program wide. -equipment and supplies have been obtained to support the initiatives referenced above.
