Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) and Quality Improvement funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act
Project Description: ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to: (1) Hire two part-time Training & Education Assistants; (2) Purchase early childhood classroom curriculum; (3) Provide improvements in compensation for Teachers, Teacher Assistants and Family Service Workers to bring salary parity for multiple years of on-going training and development, long term commitment to Head Start and to minimize employee turnover due to salary disparity. Quarterly Activities include: (1) Early childhood classroom curriculum identified and ordered; (2) Job descriptions reated and and posted for two part-time Education and Training Assistants; (3) All staff received a cost of living adjustment effective July 1, 2009.
