Award Description: The Jacobs-Tetra Tech Joint Venture (JV) was established to execute work under the US Army Corps of Engineers NAE Total Environmental Restoration Contract (TERC). The JV will execute individual task orders under the leadership of either Jacobs Engineering Group (Jacobs) or Tetra Tech EC (TtEC), as partners to the JV. Jacobs will lead work on the task orders related to the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site and TtEC will lead work at other sites. Reporting under the ARRA will be done at the individual Task Order level by either Jacobs or TtEC for their respective task orders.For the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site Task Order 0008, Jacobsshall provide all personnel, materials, and equipment to perform total environmental restoration at the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with Statement of Work (SOW) entitled: 'New Bedford Harbor Superfund' dated April 8, 2009. Tasks 1 through 4 of the SOW are awarded at this time (120 days of dredging operations). The work to be performed primarily consists of dredging, desanding, dewatering and wastewater treatment necessary for the remediation of contaminated sediments from areas identified as having the highest PCB mass remaining in the upper harbor of the Acushnet River. Other activities necessary in the performance of this work include sampling and chemical analysis including ambient air monitoring, wastewater treatment plant influent/effluent and transportation and disposal of filter cake generated from Area D.
Project Description: Task 1 - Dredge Contaminated Sediments for Ten (10) days - Summary of the activities previously completed under Task 1 from 5 June 2009 through 18 June 2009: Approximately 5,103 cubic yards (cy) of in-situ material was dredged; and 27 rail cars were loaded with a total of 2,648.75 tons of filter cake and sand/coarse material. Task 2 - Dredge Contaminated Sediments for Forty Five (45) Days - The following is a summary of all of the Task 2 dredging activities that were completed from 19 June through 21 August, 2009: Approximatly 20,440 cy of in-situ sediment was dredged; and 149 rail cars were loaded with a total of 14,608.01 tons of filter cake and sand/coarse material. Task 3 Dredge Contaminated Sediments for Forty Five (45) Days - During this period, the first five (5) days of Task 3 were completed from 24 August through 28 August 2009. The following is a summary of the Task 3 activities completed: about 2,400 cy of in-situ material was dredged; and 19 rail cars were loaded with a total of 1,864.36 tons of filter cake and sand/coarse material. Task 4 - Dredge Contaminated Sediments for Twenty (20) Days - This task has not been initiated.
