Award Description: FUNDING TO BE USED TO INCREASE THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF DWELLINGS OWNED OR OCCUPIED BY LOW-INCOME PERSONS, REDUCE THEIR TOTAL RESIDENTIAL EXPENDITURES AND IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND SAFETY.
Project Description: Regional ARRA ramp-up meetings were held with subgrantees. Subgrants were awarded to 18 Weatherization agencies. 254 homes have been weatherized by the subgrant agencies through September 30, 2009. Missouri Department of Natural Resources Energy Center (MDNR/EC) staff attended the National Weatherization Technical Conference held in Indianapolis, Indiana in July. MDNR/EC staff also attended the National NASCSP Conference held in Minnesota in September. U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Davis-Bacon training was held at St. Charles and Kansas City, Missouri in September for subgrantees and contractors. The DOL issued the wage rate determinations for Missouri in September. The MDNR/EC has hired 3 new employees since the start of the grant. The new technical staff attended Building Performance Institute (BPI) training in Rolla, Missouri. The MDNR/EC has 4 technical staff that are BPI certified.
