Award Description: Invest in public transportation by 1) purchasing eleven (11) new transit bus replacements 2) making modifications to the AVTA transfer center located at Lancaster City Park 3) the construction of several photovoltaic equipped parking structures. 4) the purchase of six (6) new service & support vehicles 5) The purchase of three (3) commuter driver shuttle vehicle replacements have been ordered and anticipated delivery is approximately mid November. 6) Various transit enhancement activities.
Project Description: Invest in public transportation by 1) purchasing eleven (11) new transit bus replacements: All buses have been ordered and deposits have been placed and anticipated delivery is May 2010. 2) making modifications to the AVTA transfer center located at Lancaster City Park, 3) the construction of several photovoltaic equipped parking structures. We have selected the firm to design, furnish and install the structures and work is set to commence immediately. 4) the purchase of six (6) new service & support vehicles: AVTA will take delivery of 1 vehicle on 10/01/09. Four (4) of the remaining five (5) vehicles have been ordered and will be delivered on 10/19/09 - the VIN #'s are 3FADP0L3XAR231482, 3FADP0L31AR231483, 3FADP0L33AR231484 & 3FADP0L35AR231485. The final one (1) vehicle being delivered no later than than mid November. The purchase of three (3) commuter driver shuttle vehicle replacements have been ordered and anticipated delivery is approximately mid November. Various transit enhancement activities.

Four (4) of the remaining five (5) vehicles have been ordered and will be delivered on 10/19/09 and the final one (1) vehicle being delivered no later than than mid November. The purchase of three (3) commuter driver shuttle vehicle replacements have been ordered and anticipated delivery is approximately mid November. Various transit enhancement activities. The projects funded under this grant will invest in transportation, environmental protection and other infrastructure that will provide long term economic benefits. These investments will also contribute to preserving and maintaining jobs and promoting economic recovery in the vehicle manufacturing and construction industry.
Jobs Summary: Taking delivery of 1 vehicle 10/1/09- contacted vehicle manufacturer & they gave us the # of FT jobs as a result of building a vehicle. No other vehicles have been delivered & there has been no activity other than awarding of a contract for the solar project - so there are no additional jobs to report. (Total jobs reported: 10)
