Award Description: ARRA Funds - Capital Improvment Program
Project Description: Canyonlands Community Health Care will need to implement the latest telecommunications technology as part of a practice management solution. Each provider will be equipped with the latest wireless technology and the ability to enter and review patient medical records at any time during a patient visit. All patient data will be centrally located to allow for immediate access from all locations. As CCHC continues to add and enhance practice management modules, staff will continue to monitor, analyze, and implement systems that will benefit not only the providers, but will streamline the patient?s total experience at all locations. To achieve this complete and secure infrastructure an updated and redundant server environment will be implemented. This environment will allow future growth and enhancements. Canyonlands will interface with the Arizona State Immunizations Information Systems (ASIIS) within the NextGen application to manage all immunization needs. Canyonlands will also develop the e-script functionality of NextGen which allows providers to fax or email prescriptions directly from their pc in the exam room at time of the patients visit. Crystal Reports will be put into place as the reporting tool for the NextGen SQL database to allow for extensive and detailed reporting on any data currently residing in the database. To complete these goals it will require T1 point to point connectivity along with a centralized call center and expanded bandwidth requirements. The latest technology in Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention systems, along with some of the most secure firewall processes will need to be implemented and will be monitored for possible enhancements on an ongoing basis. Anti-virus, anti-spam, and external email protection have been enhanced and installed. Virtual Private Networks (VPN?s) with encryption that exceeds NIST standards will need to be deployed to several of the remote sites and the remaining clinics.
