Award Description: The purpose of the USDA award is to fund the purchase of equipment for a Federally Qualified Health Center site. The health center site is currently completing a construction project to expand its women's health program (also funded through ARRA capital funds through the Health Resources and Services Administration). The ARRA construction award funded 100% of the expected construction costs as well as some basic medical equipment; however, additional equipment items were identified. This project includes the funding for the information technology equipment necessary for connectivity and efficiency in the new space; the chairs needed for the new lobby, and six medical exam tables.
Project Description: Through the quarter ending 9/30/2009, the Clinic has purchased $39,602 worth of equipment from the award of $50,000. Reimbursement will be requested when the construction project is completed in 2010 per USDA requirements. Purchased items include 24 computers at a total cost of $17,323; 20 Cisco phones at a total cost of $6,000; 7 Cisco switches at a total cost of $8,225; and 1 Blade Server Computer w/blades at a total cost of $8,054. Several items were priced slightly differently than the original budget resulting in additional units being purchased.
