Award Description: CDBG-R; seven public works projects improving water and sewer systems and street and drainage systems for Urban Tarrant County and the entitlement cities of Euless and North Richland Hills. North Richland Hills will also use funds to rehabilitate a senior's center to ensure ADA compliance. Water and Sewer Improvements in the cities of: Bedford (200 Blk. of Belle St.; 200 Blk. of Bedford Ct. E.; 1100 Blk. of Ann St.; 900 Blk. of Acorn St.; 900 Blk. of Walter St.; 1100 Blk. Of Glenda Dr.) assisting 696 low/mod income residents, Forest Hills (Forest Oak and Forest Haven Rd) assisting 1080 low/mod income residents, Kennedale (Oak Crest Drive, Link and Lindale Rd) assisting 1280 low/mod income residents, River oaks (1400 and 4400-4500 blocks of Lawrence Road) assisting 934 low/mod income residents, Euless (South Mills Drive) assisting 1357 low/mod income residents= $ 665,838.20, Street &/or Drainage Improvements in the cities of: Crowley(200 block of North Texas St.) assisting 792 low/mod income residents, and North Richland Hills (Charles St) assisting 478 low/mod income residents = $ 116,370.00, and Senior's Center Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation to one senior center rear exit to improve handicap accessibility and remain within ADA compliance. Also rehabilitate one area to improve energy efficiency at 7301 Bursey Road.= $ 10,000.00
Project Description: Tarrant County was awarded funds July 30, 2009 for 8 public infrastucture and administrative costs to execute project completions. Projects include 4 sewer improvements, 1 water improvement, 1 street improvement, 1 drainage improvement and 1 rehabilitation of a senior center to make ADA compliant and energy efficient. In August and September 2009 engineers were selected and contracts were made with engineers to supply plans for the public infrastructure work. Engineers supplied plans for Tarrant County staff to review and bid out for contracting. Tarrant County is currently in the process of selecting contractors and signing contracts to begin work immediately.
Infrastructure Description: Infrastructure improvements will modernize the Nation's infrastructure and improvements to the senior center will ensure ADA compliance and improve energy efficiency. (NOTE: glitch in this cell)
Jobs Summary: Engineering contracts have been made for three jobs and engineers have drawn plans or supplied plans for contractor bidding.
