Award Description: Preserve jobs and promote economic recovery by investing in infrastructure that will provide long term economic benefits. We anticipate the retention of 33 jobs and improvements to transporation, accessiblity and quality of life for 100's of residents locally and 1000's who will benefit from the improved infrastruture.
Project Description: The Recovery Act funds will create an estimated 33 construction jobs and other funds will be leveraged to pay for professional services to facilitate the projects. The infrastructure improvements will enhance the transportation network in three communities. Results will include improved accessability for disabled residents and improve overall pedestrian access to jobs, shopping and social activities thereby enriching a sector of the economy. The investment in roadway infrastructure improves the quality of life for neighbor residents. This encourages smart growth by focusing development on existing infrastructure.
