Award Description: ARRA- Capital Improvement
Project Description: Chota Community Health Services (CCHS) is proposing 2 different projects, which address both immediate and long range needs of this network of 3 community health centers and 7 school-based clinics in East Tennessee. The Board of CCHS held a strategic planning session in March 2009, which is the basis of this proposal. The target population for this FQHC, Monroe County, has experienced a significant change in unemployment from 7.2 in September 2008 to over 20% in April 2009. CCHS is providing 3,894 patients visit monthly and seeing a total of 259 new patients .The projects selected are in two categories: construction and renovation with equipment acquisition, which increase efficiency and access.
