Award Description: PURPOSE: To employ an organizational strategy to build new partnerships with entities and institutions that can provide further technological assistance through current federal funding. POPULATION TO BE SERVED: To provide funding for staffing, equipment, and various forms of training and technical assistance to law enforcement throughout Tennessee SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Goal: To continue to seek opportunities to partner with both law enforcement agencies and educational institutions in order to increase the investigative and operational productivity and effectiveness throughout Tennessee. OBJECTIVES ? Increasing investigative effectiveness and methodologies ? Create new jobs ? Ensure Project Safe Childhood is implemented correctly and utilized ? Increase staffing to ensure timely investigations, prosecution and training ? Address prevention and intervention resources available to each target audience ? Increase forensic resources or implement methodology ? To continue and foster additional multijurisdictional and interagency partnerships SHORT-TERM OUTCOMES INTERMEDIATE OUTCOMES ? Five new jobs. ? Twenty percent increase in arrests ? Forty additional investigations ? Twenty percent increase in computer forensic examinations ? Twenty additional prosecutions ? Twenty percent increase of investigative technical assistance sessions

Project Description: Overall purpose: To employ an organizational strategy to build new partnerships with entities and institutions that can provide further technological assistance through current federal funding. Expected Results: The Knoxville Police Department is in the process of interviewing for the Forensic Examiner and the Program Specialist has been selected. The Program Specialist will begin employment in November 2009. Three agencies have been selected to receive a sub-contract for staff and benefits for ICAC Unit stafffing.
