Award Description: 2009 Recovery Act Law Enforcement Program Equipment: Through identified equipment purchases, the Prescott Police Department will enhance selected law enforcement programs to improve efficiency and service to the community. Upon receipt of identified equipment, the Prescott Police Department will utilize an aggressive and proactive approach toward deterring crimes such as vandalism, graffiti, theft, trespassing, burglary, and criminal damage.
Project Description: During this quarter, the Prescott Police Department purchased three Stealth GPS Tracking Devices. These devices were utilized to track the location and movements of an individual suspected of sexual exploitation of a minor, and an individual suspected in multiple burglaries. Our Department has also ordered five SWAT tactical vests with delivery expected in October 2009, and per our City's procurement regulations have solicited competitive bids for an Automated License Plate Reader and five Mobile Data Computers.
