Award Description: 1. Milpitas Food Pantry ($18,293)-Provides daily supplemental supplies of food to very low and low-income families. Approximately 1,000 Milpitas residentrs will benefit from these services.2) Support Network for Battered Women ($5,000)-Provides 24 hour comprehensive services for battered women and their children. Approximately 75 Milpitas households will benefit from these services. 3) Calle Oriente Park ($100,000)-Provides funding for the design and construction of a complete renovation of the park. Improvenments includes new playground equipment, basketball court, lighting, drinking fountain, shade structure, benches, barbeques pits, landscaping, park sign and ADA accessibility and compliance. 4) Rebuilding Together ($18,700)-Provides funding for safety repairs, accessibilty/mobility home improvments, energy and water efficiency improvements and repairs for 5 extremely low-income households. 5) Senior Housing Solutions ($15,000)-Provides funding to assist the acquisition and rehabilitation of single-family residence for 5 extremely low-income seniors whom are functioning independently. Rents will be kept at 30% of the senior's income. This additional funding will be used to cover related costs of the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels for this project. (Note: City of Milpitas Redevelopment Agency has allocated $750,000 towards the aqcuisition of the property).
