Award Description: Programs that provide subsidized, part-time, community service work-based training for low-income persons age 55+ who have poor employment prospects. It is intended that these community service experiences serve as a bridge to other employment positions not supported with Federal funds. instruction or experience in utilizing the skills required for the performance of specific job-related tasks and the assumption of specific job-related responsibilities. The State of Iowa was awarded 32 slots for participants.
Project Description: The Program provides employment opportunities for those that are at 125% of the federal poverty level or less so in a time of economic recession the funds could be well utilized.
