Award Description: The purpose of the grant is to assist Head Start personnel to acquire the additional educational requirements mandated in the 2007 Head Start Reauthorization Act. Under the requirements, staff is obligated to complete more coursework to meet the new requirements. There is also a 1.84% COLA increase for the Head Start staff included in the award amount. The outcomes for this additional money will be that the staff will be closer to their educational goals in the 2009-2010 school year.
Project Description: The purpose of the award is to assist teaching personnel in completing coursework leading to AA and BA degrees. The 2007 Reauthorization Act mandates that certain key personnel must have degree's by 2011 and 2013.
