Award Description: Community Development Block Grant - Recovery Act funds for local capital improvement projects in partnership with area nonprofit agencies.
Project Description: The projects to be funded with the City of Oceanside's CDBG-R allocation have been identified; The City Council will make final appropriation of funds and approval for contracts to be signed on October 14, 2009. Planning and predevelopment work for the projects is underway. Environmental review of the proposed projects is also underway and will be completed by the end of October, 2009. Construction work of all projects will begin before the end of 2009 and will be completed by September 30, 2010. The overall goal for CDBG-R funds in Oceanside is to provide improved services to low-income residents of the City by improving the facilities in which the services are provided, and to stimulate the local economy through investment in labor-intensive projects.
