Award Description: Conduct community development activities through several programs benefitting low income persons in Pleasanton, California. CDBG-R funds will be used to coordinate health care access for the uninsured, provide hot meals for low-income persons and senior citizens, provide loans and grants for low-income home owners, and make repairs to pedestrian pavement areas at an apartment complex for very low income seniors. The CDBG-R funding can be expected to result in providing direct and indirect employment for medical personnel, social workers, architects, engineers, construction workers, and manufacturers.
Project Description: Purpose: To create suitable living environments and to provide decent, affordable housing. Expected results: 4 households assisted; 1,000 persons served, and 6 jobs created / retained.
Jobs Summary: ARRA funding is expected to result in the retention of two (2) full time social service provider jobs and four (4) full time construction jobs. Specific details will be available in the next quarterly report after project implementation has progressed further. (Total jobs reported: 6)
