Award Description: ARRA cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640 (a)(5) of the Head Start Act
Project Description: Project Description: ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to: ? Provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications. ? Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. Quarterly Activities: ? A partnership was set up with University of District of Colombia (UDC) and Howard University to offer a series of college courses in early childhood development and 10 staff registered. ? All staff received a cost of living adjustment effective July 1, 2009.
