Award Description: to increase the number of victims who can be served in the city of Detroit; to enhance our transitional housing program (Berdia Maes Place) for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, and sexual assault who are in need of transitional housing, short-term housing assistance, or related support services; and to preserve and create additional jobs to assist victims.

Project Description: Scheduled meeting with collaborative partners and announced award and began coordinating enhancement of referrals for services. Evaluated current services and tracked housing services back from July 1, 2009.

Jobs Summary: One full time Housing Specialist for survivors of domestic violence to provide appropriate services over 3-year period to secure transitional/permanent housing was hired. The full time Housing Specialist would service a minimum of 75 clients per year. A full-time Maintenance Worker will be hired for light maintenance and to ensure all units meet housing quality standards. (Total jobs reported: 2)
