Award Description: OVW Recovery Act - Grants to Indian Tribal Governments Program

Project Description: The project will be initially be implemented by the tribal administration staff. The Human Resource manager will advertise and recruit for the position of Program Coordinator. The Governor, Lieutenant Governor and selected staff or other tribal officials will interview and make the final selection. Once the Program Coordinator is hired, he/she will be responsible for delivery and administration of the grant to ensure compliance. The Coordinator will work with the tribal administration, traditional leaders, consultant, the OVW TA provider and the partner organization to meet the goals and objectives of the grant: (1) To educate/increase awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence against American Indian Women; (2) To identify essential services, and provide technical assistance to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence; and (3) To improve the response to sexual assault and violence against American Indian Women.
