Award Description: The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs will use these funds to award grants to governmental and nonprofit agencies to enhance programs that provide effective responses to violence against women. These funds will assist by preserving and creating jobs and promoting economic recovery.
Project Description: 'Administer Recovery Act STOP Violence Against Women Program funding by issuing awards to current STOP subgrantees and new applicants with a proven program to hire and/or retain staff to stimulate the economy. '
