Award Description: Evansville Community Police Partnership Program. Funds will provide necessary equipment for six new officers. The funding will also be used to purchase equipment to be used in a firing range that will be used by multiple agencies in Southwestern Indiana.

Project Description: The Evansville Police Department is in the planning stages to purchase the bullet trap for the firing range. We are currently studying several sites to place the new firing range on. After ecological studies and zoning requirements are met the department will make a decision on where this can be located. The equipment for the new officers will be purchased just prior to the hiring of the officers. The expected hire date will be March of 2010. This is in accordance with the hiring practice of the Evansville Police Department due to training requirements.
