Award Description: The goal of this proposal is to provide law enforcement agencies within this region with the required resources to promote and support strategies to reduce crime. The following strategies will ensure success of the grant: (a) A member from each law enforcement agency represented in this project will be selected to provide oversight of the grant. (c) The members from the law enforcement agencies will coordinate protocols to meet the quarterly reporting required by BJA. The major deliverables will include immediate coordination of the law enforcement agencies involved to procure equipment and services to promote economic growth and the creation of jobs. Project Description: The Raleigh Police Department (RPD) has submitted the signed Memorandum of Understanding for the participating law enforcement agencies to BJA. During this quarter, a member from each of the participating law enforcement agencies was selected to provide oversight for the grant. In addition, some agencies have begun to get quotes to purchase equipment. It is anticipated that equipment purchases will made in the next quarter. RPD has purchased the in-car cameras as outlined in the grant application. The Wake County Sheriff's Office received their total allocated amount based on the memorandum of understanding and began expenditures for the Summer Adventure Camp.
