Award Description: Awarded funds were made available to provide a cost -of-living increase of 1.84% for a 12 month period. Program improvement funds were also awarded to increase program operation weeks, extend staff employment, increase staff compensation and benefits, bus purchases, Visions implementation and professional development.

Project Description: COLA increases in the amount of 1.84% began July 2009 and will continue for 12 months. Funds have also been used towards professional development, improving staff compensation, including benefits by calling staff back early from lay-off to begin intensive pre-service training, and extending the weeks of program operations.

Jobs Summary: Our program was able to provide 41 Head Start/Early Head Start staff an opportunity to work additional weeks within our calendar year, and receive additional compensation and benefits. The overall out come improved the quality of our programs services. (Total jobs reported: 41)
