Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act.
Project Description: Project Description: ARRA and COLA funds will be used to: - Repair and improve program facilities and equipment - Provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications - Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. Quarterly Activities - Bids were received for repair and improvement projects. - Carpet was installed, child safety restraints and a commercial refrigerator were purchased, kitchen was upgraded, bus repairs were made, parking lot was paved. - Training on adult-child positive interactions was held for education staff - All staff received a cost of living adjustment effective August 1, 2009.
