Award Description: ARRA funding allocations were awarded to supplement PY 2008 WIA Title I Youth, Adult, and Dislocated Worker programs per TEGL 13-08. The purpose of the WIA stimulus program funds is to provide additonal funds for more intensive core, intensive, longer-term training for adults and dislocated workers and year round and summer employment opportunities during the summer of 2009 for Nevada's youth.
Project Description: Employment and training activities for adults, dislocated workers and youth, including the summer employment opportunities component from May - September 2009. WIA Youth Grants: Provision of employment-related services and work experience, including an expanded summer youth work experience component, to America?s youth ages 14-24. WIA Adult Grants: Provision of work-related employment and training services, including job training opportunities, to unemployed or underemployed adults. WIA Dislocated Worker Grants: Provision of work-related employment and training services, including job training opportunities, to laid-off individuals.
