Award Description: We are hoping to hook up to the existing water and sewer main running along Route 3 here in Tilton, following Daniel Webster Highway. Our septic tanks are getting older, they haven't been replaced since the park was founded. We're right by a small body of water, and if the tanks failed, toxins would leech into the ground, and thus into the water, contaminating it. We have discontinued our well and am temporarily on Lochmere's water until this project is complete. The well didn't meet the demands of the park. We expect that by following through with this project, we'll be able to enjoy the luxuries of having town water and sewer.
