Award Description: Violence Against Women Act-$2.8 million to promote a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to enhance services and advocacy to victims, improve the criminal justice system's response, and promote effective law enforcement, prosecution, and judicial strategies to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Office of Grants and Research manages the State's VAWA STOP award. Funds will be distributed through competitive processes and in keeping with the VAWA STOP formula: 30% to nonprofit, nongovernmental victim services programs (of which at least 10% is to be distributed to culturally specific community-based organizations); not less than 25% to law enforcement; not less than 25% to prosecution; and not less than 5% to courts. The remaining 15% may be awarded at the discretion of the Commonwealth within the statutory parameters of VAWA.

Project Description: This is funding to be set aside and retained by the Office of Grants and Research for the purposes of administering the grant program- reviewing applications, executing contracts, conducting information sessions, conducting site visits, and executing program and fiscal accountability and compliance. As of September 30th, the only administrative spending that has occurred is $45 for supplies for potential bidders conference.

Jobs Summary: It is anticipated that for the remainder of the grant period, this funding will eventually offset 1.75 FTE's employed in the administration and oversight of the grant awards to prosecutors, courts, community based organizations, and law enforcement. As of September 30th, spending relative to FTE's has not occurred. (Total jobs reported: 0)
