Award Description: Mattapan Community Health Center (MCHC) proposes to use the IDS funds to hire an internist by July 2009 to fill a previously vacant position and to meet the growing demands of the uninsured and the underinsured. The health center also plans to retain the services of the physician for the remaining portion of the 2-year project period. MCHC is the only FQHC in its urban service area - Mattapan and Hyde Park, two Boston, MA neighborhoods. All of Mattapan and part of Hyde Park are Medically Underserved Areas.
