Project Description: Task: Flu Immunization for Hispanics Milestones Achieved for 3rd Quarter, 2009: 01: Provided and assigned project support via roles, responsibilities, and percentage of time per task. 02: Held orientation/strategy meeting for Emergent Influenza Campaign and reviewed key elements of the contract deliverables of the program plan, including monthly report deadlines; Project Officer explained ARRA requirements and tracking to ensure compliance with the provisions; and contractor took notes for report submission. 03: Discussed with CDC Project Officer the approach for the communication plan as detailed in the overall project plan; a targeted approach to address four possible immunization uptake scenarios was discussed; the role of contractor to support CDC?s National Immunization Vaccination Week was addressed; anti-vaccine messaging impact and the role that it will play was discussed as it relates to the Spanish-language community; dialogued about CDC National Immunization Conference presentation opportunities; and agreement was made to provide communication plan as timely as possible under the 30 days requirement. 04: Discussed the approach for conducting focus groups, market site selection, and the segmented target audience recruitment strategies, and the use of IRB to conduct the focus groups. 05: Discussed approach for creating Spanish-language health marketing materials, including media products included in the program plan. 06: Provided new marketing concepts for effective distribution to the Spanish speaking public as it relates to the program plan. 07: A discussion was held to set up timely and regular communication between contractor and CDC ensuring contractor compliance with deliverables, communicate set backs, and set up weekly conference calls unless otherwise indicated. 08: Determined that at least one HMA participant, Project Director or an assigned staff member per conference call and meeting notes is sent to CDC Project Officer for all meetings.
