Award Description: On-going Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) of 3.06% for all Head Start employees. Quality Improvement funds utilized for a 12-month period to provide 1.84% COLA & wage increases varying between 6%-8% for all Head Start employees.
Project Description: The wage increases were provided to 205 Head Start staff beginning July 1, 2009 for Full-Year staff and September 1, 2009 for 9-month School year staff. Wage increases will continue through June, 2010.
Jobs Summary: This was a job retention activity that supported wage adjustments to better match the qualifications necessary with appropriate compensation. This activity helps to ensure that we attract and retain qualified Head Start staff to provide services to 822 children and their families at 17 locations within a 2-county region. (Total jobs reported: 205)
