Award Description: This supplement was awarded to provide research support for a newly recruited physician scientist. This new faculty member has the primary goal of establishing a translational research program that will lead the way in developing new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of childhood brain tumors.

Project Description: A primary goal is to engage in and foster collaborative interactions among basic and clinical researchers and develop a brain tumor scientific working group with a clear translational focus. This will lead to the development of clinical trials that will help physicians deal more effectively with childhood brain tumors which represent 15% of all childhood cancers.
