Award Description: This supplement will be used for conducting the following four activities and actions that will mainly provide experiences that educate clinical and translational scientists in the creation of partnerships that promotes translational research: 1. Training and Partnership Creation for Translational research in the context of thematic groups- We are proposing to create four training groups of basic, clinical and socio-behavioral researchers/scientists at different levels of career development. Each one of the groups is expected to propose and design research projects in one of the following themes: HPV-HIV, discordant couples, tobacco and HIV, and adherence, stigma and biological markers. We have selected the themes based on the following rationale. 2. Meetings of researchers with the community -The members of each group will have the opportunity to discuss their research ideas with the community. Representatives of community based organizations, programs and patients will be invited. A total of four community meetings will be held each year. During the meetings the community will receive current information about the theme. In addition, the community will be able to identify challenges, issues, priorities, needs and concerns related to future inquiries about the selected themes. 3. Retreat/Symposium- At the end of each year, the researchers will meet in a retreat or symposium to share the advancement, ideas and project that have emerged in the different groups. These retreats will provide the space to consolidate partnerships and collaborations. 4. Evaluation and Monitoring of the researchers' interest in conducting translational research- We will monitor the development of the self-efficacy to conduct. We will explore if self-efficacy evolves among the researchers and the groups, and how self-efficacy impacts sustained interest in translational research.
