Award Description: The Community Against Domestic Violence Program (CADV), an on-going project of Boat People SOS (BPSOS), will ensure that Vietnamese victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking (herein referred to as domestic violence for short) in the District of Columbia metropolitan area have safe, secure housing and access to holistic and culturally and linguistically appropriate support services while establishing a violence-free life. We will accomplish the following objectives in Year One: 1) Ten Vietnamese victims of domestic violence or sexual assault, and their families, will gain safe and secure housing; 2) At least 20 clients will acquire job skills to gain or retain employment, become self-sufficient, and remain in safe housing; 3) Twenty clients will be empowered through financial literacy training to manage their finances and plan for the future; and 4) Two transitional housing programs will gain cultural competency skills to work effectively with Vietnamese victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
