Award Description: The purpose of this award is too provide funds to support research projects begun under the parent project (AA009986: currently in 1 year no-cost extension) and to develop new avenues of research on defining how ethanol inhibition of the glutamate studies utilizing molecular biology, electrophysiology and animal genetics and behaviot to probe for sites of action on the NMDA receptor and to exploit this knowledge in the develoment of new animal models for the study of alcohol action.
