Award Description: This proposal focuses on research in the area of acyclic diastereoselective synthesis, with emphasis on the development of novel allylmetal reagents for application to the synthesis of several biologically active natural products, including nigricanoside A, peloruside A and amphidinol3. The Public Health relevance of this research is that new bifunctional allylmetal reagents that will be developed will simplify the synthesis of biologically active natural products and facilitate structure activity relationship studies. It is expected that this methodology will facilitate the synthesis of analogs of natural products, such as those named in the previous paragraph, as well as other drug-like small molecules.
Project Description: As defined in Award Description field.
Jobs Summary: This ARRA grant will provide funding for three full-time graduate students or postdoctoral research associates. (Total jobs reported: 3)
