Award Description: Maryland's Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) provides assistance to innocent victims of crime who have suffered a physical injury and sustained a financial loss. This grant supplements our annual formula grant that reimburses Maryland CICB 60% of the State funds awarded for crime victim compensation.
Project Description: The amount of this grant (approximately $571,000) is roughly equivalent to one month’s awards by Maryland CICB. It is expected that when our claims database is adjusted to track those compensation awards charged to the Recovery Act grant, we will begin using the grant for all claim awards until it is exhausted.
