Award Description: Recovery Act - OVC FY09 VOCA Victim Compensation Formula Grant Program
Project Description: The District of Columbia Crime Victims Compensation Program pays expenses and economic losses to/on behalf of individual victims of violent crimes. These expenses and economic losses include medical, counseling, funeral bills and wage losses. These payments contribute to the economic health, and thereby job retention and creation, of service provider businesses, the individual victims, and the communities in which these victims and service providers reside.
