Award Description: Purchase of equipment for law enforcement.
Project Description: We had no grant activity during this reporting period. We were intending on spending the grant funds for the purchase of duty equipment for two new police officer positions. In addition to this grant, the City was seeking funding from the COPS Hiring Recovery Program grant. Due to this agency not being awarded a COPS Hiring Recovery Program grant, the original intent of this grant is no longer feasible, as we will not be hiring two new police officers. At this time we are working on changing the scope of the grant, to include the purchase of additional Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) for Sierra Vista Police Department patrol vehicles. We will be resubmitting the revised budget sheets and narrative for approval in the near future.
