Award Description: POLICE EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT GRANT The Palm Springs police Department will utilize the equipment acquired through this grant to ensure that necessary law enforcement tools are available to all first response 'Patrol: units. Proper and rapid deployment of less than lethal weapon systems (Pepperball Launchers & Tasers)and police protective equipment (Level IIIA Ballistic Helmets & Shields)will allow more effective and efficient intervention into violent criminal situations. Once purchased this equipment will be standard equipment for all first response 'Patrol' units and will be available for use at the scene of a crisis.
Project Description: Pepperball Launchers and Tasers were ordered and received. They were deployed to all appropriate personnel. The Ballistic Shields and Helmets have been ordered, but not received.
