Award Description: FY2009 ARRA COLA / QI

Project Description: The quarterly activity reflected on this report covers the payroll portion of the COLA. Also included is the 50% Quality Improvement, salary portion, disbursed to existing educational and family service employees only.

Infrastructure Description: The ARRA COLA is disbursed to all employees across the board including fringe benefits. 50% of the quality improvement funds is being used to improve compensation to educational personnel and family service workers. This will ensure that compensation is adequate to attract and retain qualified staff. The remaining 50% of the QI funds is allocated to build and improve indoor and outdoor play areas in our site. There are few parks in the area and the department of health requires at minimum 60 minutes of physical activities daily. Also included are table top science centers and vocabulary boxes for all 25 classrooms to enhance the program.
